The early books of Christianity were destroyed along with the lives of countless souls who held to the early teaching of Jesus. But some books survived. These early Gospels tell a different story about Jesus and his teachings, from what Christians are told today. Jesus, the prophet, was elevated to the role of “The Son of God” by the Catholic Church. A role that was based on an old mythological tale of Horus. A tale that mirrors that of Jesus but is several thousand years older.
How can Christians accept the word of a church that enforced their word with the threat of death? How do you think Jesus would react to the history of Christianity?
To understand the impact Christianity has had on the world, look at South America. After Christopher Columbus returned here, he crucified any native who would not convert to Christianity. Countless natives were executed in this fashion. Today, most are Christians with the crucifix hanging on the wall. They believe the Catholic church because they had no choice.
The top religions believe in the God of Abraham. A god created to help explain the tumultuous history of his favorite children. A tribe led by Moses who, upon seeing what the tribe had done while he was away, talking to god, orders his generals to kill every man his brother, kill every man his wife, kill every man his neighbor. Then Moses, who was told by god, orders his people to go into the promised land and kill everything in sight.
Is that your god? I don’t believe that God has ever harmed a single hair on the head of mankind. Nor has God ever taken sides, to help his children kill his children. Man destroys man. Man has always carried the banner of their god before them into battle. If they won, time to celebrate their god. If they lost, time to kill some virgins.
I am not an atheist. I just don’t accept the biblical interpretation of what really happened. Christians think that they are going to walk into heaven, shake hands with God, crawl up on his lap and give him a great big hug. Others are thinking, a room full of naked virgins.
Religion today is used to control the populace. And it’s doing a damn fine job, people are no longer free thinkers questioning its dogma.
